The Story Of Luna Richard

Welcome! I’m Luna Richard, art enthusiast and antiques expert, born in the year 1968 and originally from the beautiful city of Venice, Italy. My journey, both personally and professionally, has taken me across continents, immersing me in rich cultures, diverse experiences, and a lifelong passion for art.

I was born in Venice, a city of art, history, and charm. From a young age, I was captivated by the world of creativity, largely influenced by my father, a professional antiques art collector. He nurtured my appreciation for the finer things in life—art, history, and culture. My childhood was a blend of exploring ancient Venetian streets, learning about antiques, and spending time in my father’s art-filled studio. His work fascinated me, and I spent hours watching him examine and collect rare, beautiful pieces that told their own stories.

When I was 10, my family made a significant move to the UK. My father had an opportunity to become a Lecturer of Archaeology, and we settled in Manchester. Though leaving Venice was bittersweet, the move opened a new chapter in my life. Growing up in Manchester, I gained a more global perspective on art and culture, which continued to shape my path. My father’s passion for art became mine, and it was during this time that I knew I wanted to pursue a career that merged creativity with history.

After completing my degree in Marketing, I embarked on a professional journey that allowed me to combine my love for art with business. For over 25 years, I’ve been buying and selling antiques for large multinational corporations, museums, and malls. This career has taken me around the world, connecting me with incredible people, places, and stories. Each piece of art and antique I’ve encountered has a unique history, and it’s always been my goal to preserve and share that with others.

While my work in the world of antiques has been fulfilling, I’ve also pursued my own artistic endeavors. I’m a fine artist, and I’ve been fortunate enough to organize showrooms and auctions, where I’ve showcased not only the work of others but also my own creations. Art, to me, is a reflection of life—its beauty, struggles, and transformations. My love for art isn’t just professional; it’s personal. It’s the way I express myself, connect with others, and bring beauty into the world.

When I’m not working, I love spending time in nature. Living in San Diego, California, offers endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. I find peace in activities like boating, hiking, and taking long walks along the beach. Watching the sunset over the ocean is one of life’s simple joys that I never tire of. I also cherish quiet nights at home with my dog, where I can reflect on the day and enjoy the serenity of my own space.

My life has been shaped by different cultures, and as a result, I’m adventurous when it comes to food. I enjoy trying new dishes and believe that food is one of the best ways to experience the essence of a culture. Whether it’s cooking a homemade meal or enjoying fresh seafood, I find joy in the culinary arts. There’s something satisfying about knowing you can create a meal that’s just as good, if not better, than what you’d get in a restaurant.

I was raised in a strict Catholic household, and my faith is still a central part of who I am. I believe in honesty, loyalty, and treating others with kindness and respect. I don’t believe in playing games or causing drama, and I strive to live my life with integrity and sincerity. Life has taught me that no matter what challenges come your way, it’s important to stay true to yourself and to always choose happiness.

Over the years, I’ve experienced both heartbreak and triumph. Life has its seasons, and I’ve learned to carry forward the positive while leaving behind the pain, taking only the lessons with me. My focus now is on living fully in the present, embracing every moment with gratitude and optimism. I’m a firm believer that we all have the power to shape our own happiness, and that’s exactly what I’m choosing to do every day.

Though I’ve traveled extensively for work, I’m now shifting my focus to enjoying life at a slower pace. San Diego has become my home, and I’m excited to explore the American landscape more deeply. However, my passion for travel will always remain. There’s something exhilarating about discovering new places, meeting new people, and experiencing the beauty of the world firsthand.

Art has always been my anchor, whether I’m creating it, appreciating it, or helping others discover it. It’s more than just a profession or hobby—it’s a way of life for me. Organizing showrooms, auctions, and connecting people with meaningful pieces of art brings me immense fulfillment. There’s a certain magic in watching someone fall in love with a piece of art that speaks to them on a deep, emotional level.

In addition to art and antiques, I enjoy modeling as a hobby. Whether it’s by the beach or in the midst of nature, photography allows me to express my appreciation for beauty and elegance. Nature itself is a constant source of inspiration for me—its calming presence, its intricate details, and its ability to make us feel connected to something larger than ourselves.

Through it all, I’ve learned that perfection is an illusion. I embrace my imperfections because they make me who I am. Life is about growth, understanding, and striving to be the best version of yourself. I’m not perfect, but I’m always working towards becoming the most authentic and compassionate version of myself. This journey of self-discovery and personal growth is one I embrace with open arms.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. My story is one of passion, creativity, resilience, and optimism. I look forward to continuing this journey, sharing my love for art and culture with the world, and connecting with others who share the same values and appreciation for life’s beauty.
